HELPFUL GUIDE

Attorney fees and case costs: what to ask

Understand the questions behind contingency fee arrangements.

YOUR NEXT STEP↗

Let’s hear your story.

A few details are enough to start.

Your inquiry details
Add more details (optional)

Do not include medical records, Social Security numbers or confidential documents.

Your inquiry goes to our intake team first. Any sharing with independent lawyers will be explained before a handoff. Submitting does not hire a lawyer.

Ask for the agreement in writing

Some injury lawyers offer contingency arrangements, where the fee depends on the result. Terms differ. Ask which percentage applies, whether it changes and how expenses are handled.

Fees and costs are different

Expenses can include records, filings or experts. Ask whether costs are deducted before or after the attorney fee and whether you could owe expenses if no compensation is recovered.

Do not assume a consultation is free

Confirm consultation charges before the meeting. This website does not promise a particular lawyer’s fee terms.
